I love it! For the life of me, I don't know who has my green sweater or wool shoes, but I can name every book that's gone missing over the last 20 years or so and who the "thief" is!
And... every year I read "All About Sam" to my second graders and they LOVE it. This year it has new meaning for me, however, as I have a six month old. I now wonder what he IS doing--what he might be practicing--in his crib at night! Thank you for the special insight!

When I was a boy growing up in Wash. DC there was a "bookmobile" that came around our neighborhood every week. I got my first library card there. I looked forward to it arriving as if it were the ice cream truck. I borrowed a book titled "The Crystal Cabinet" an anthology of poetry that made a huge impression on me and made me a lover of literature and poetry, especially. I held on to the book for a while, then the bookmobile program was discontinued, and then we moved, and then I lost the book, or so I thought!. It resurfaced nearly twenty or thirty years after I checked it out, it was in a box of books I kept in my parent's basement. When it resurfaced I went to the library where I lived and discreetly dropped it in the book drop. From that time on, I've been careful to return all borrowed books, but at the same time, I've learned to keep extra copies of the ones I love, so I can give away copies of them, not expecting to get them back, and hopefully, spark in someone that love of the written language that bewitched ME, so many years ago.

Cheers!

Wonderful post and photo! The plant by itself would've been spectacular. You and Alfie made it more so (if one can make "spectacular" superlative!)
